The Outstanding Teacher Programme at Chailey

The Outstanding Teacher Programme has once again been completed successfully at Chailey.  Facilitated by Mrs Marshallsay and Mr Dudgeon, the programme's aim is to develop outstanding teachers in the classroom and involves teachers from our own school (see Mr Verniol, Mr Deacon and Miss Sinclair in the photo!) and also teachers from our feeder primary schools and neighbouring secondary schools.

The programme is characterised by teachers learning from one another and having the opportunity to implement and evaluate new ideas in the classroom. In addition to discussing what works best for the students, the participants visit numerous lessons taking place at Chailey, which helps to develop their thinking about their own practice. This year, the participants were particularly creative and devised a huge range of interesting and challenging teaching strategies from which their students will certainly benefit.
