On Thursday 26th September, we welcomed parents and children considering the important move to secondary school to visit Chailey to meet staff, students, existing parents and governors. After a short welcome and presentation from the Headteacher, Mrs Young, the Senior Prefect Team and some Year 7 students, everyone set off to look around the school. There were lots of activities for children and their parents to get involved in - visiting the café in the modern languages department; trying the food being cooked by students in food technology; making key rings in DT; solving maths puzzles and watching screaming jelly babies in science - to name but a few. There were lots of things to see and do all over the school, with the added bonus of encountering our team of friendly 'buskers' entertaining visitors as they toured around! Current Chailey students were proud to answer questions about their experience of the school and to give their opinion of all aspects of life at Chailey. They did a superb job and our visitors were very impressed with the students' enthusiasm and confidence. A real team effort from everyone at Chailey to ensure our visitors enjoyed their visit.
