Imogen Smith, 8 Ash, writes:
As some of you will know, there was
a concert on Friday 12th June, at Chailey St Peter’s Church. This is
an event that has now been running for three years in a row and has gone down a
MASSIVE success! The concert is basically to join Chailey and Plumpton and to
let the local citizens listen to the wonderful performances.
Before the concert, auditions were
held at Chailey School to find the best of the best, run
by Mr Sandford who made an excellent choice! There were lots of different acts being
performed, from the song ‘Naughty’ from Matilda the Musical; to the ukulele and
piano and the song ‘December 1963’. Everyone really enjoyed it and so many
different talents were shown that night.
Some people might know that Mrs
Young works both at Chailey
School and Plumpton
School, so that is another reason for doing this. But Mr. Sandford also played
a big role in organising this concert as he works at Plumpton too. The two
choirs at both Chailey and Plumpton sang very nice songs, including ‘Price Tag’
and ‘Lean on Me’, which was also a great hit! So for the finale, they joined
together to sing a wonderful version of the song ‘Happy’, which finished off
the concert perfectly.
So a big thank-you to Mrs Barringer
too, who is Leader of Music at Chailey
School and played the
piano. And a big thank-you to Mr Sandford for doing a great job organising it.
Of course, well done to everyone who performed.
It was a brilliant evening and we hope that it will carry on next year.
