UK Maths Challenge Regional Finals

On Tuesday 29^th April four Chailey students: Sam Segal in Year 9, and Tom Caughley, Josh Sayers and Josh Kianfar in Year 8, attended the regional finals of the UK Maths Challenge at Robertsbridge Community College. The finals consisted of four rounds.  The first was a problem solving round followed by a paired cross-number where the across clues had to be solved separately from the down clues. In the afternoon the students completed a mini-relay in their teams and the final event was the main relay where students had to answer questions and run to pass on the next question to the other pair. The boys worked extremely hard and battled well against the other fourteen schools in the competition.  They  finished in an impressive second place and can be seen in the photograph with their certificates.
